About Us
Meet Taryn Krige
A qualified ECD and Foundation Phase teacher with 20 years of experience in both the private and public sector. Having worked with various curriculums, such as CAPs and Cambridge, Taryn has an in depth understanding of the developmental needs of the students in her care. Personal development, growth and best practises have always been a priority for Taryn as she has kept abreast with the latest developments in both literacy and numeracy. Neurotherapy has been at the forefront of her training, as she is passionate about neurological development in young children.
One word to best describe Taryn is Relationship.
She believes that for a child to learn at their optimum level they need to feel genuinely loved, individually seen, and clearly heard; without those in place, no lasting learning can take place. Not only does she apply these principles to her teaching but to all aspects of her life. This guarantees that the atmosphere she creates both inside and outside of her classroom is one of fun and love, ensuring that meaningful and memorable learning is taking place.
In January 2024, Taryn Krige will be opening a Foundation Phase Home Tutor Centre. Gideon Academy, a Christian based tutor centre, will be enrolling their first intake of Grade R students. This centre is registered with Impaq and run by SACE registered educators. With individualised attention placed on each child’s learning journey the class size will be no more than ten students. If you are interested in enrolling your child for 2024, please contact Taryn Krige. We look forward to hearing from you!
What Our Parents Say
Busisiwe Mazibuko
Good evening Taryn, I trust you and family are well. Here is my testimonial as requested. Of the 14 years since my son started school Taryn is one of the 2 teachers that has made a lot of impact in our lives. Our early stages of schooling were not easy as we had to deal with delayed speech therefore had to attend speech and occupational therapy and Taryn was all supportive, she was that teacher that I prayed for. The transition from Grade 0 to Grade 1 for my son, was just God ordained I could see God’s hand in it. If it were for me I would have taken Teacher Taryn with us all the way to Grade 12🙈😅.
The day that has always been in my memory was when Lufuno had a loose tooth and he didn’t want any of us removing it and teacher Taryn was the only one who won that battle and she even sent me a photo of the tooth after it was taken out. The young man was so thrilled that he could enjoy his meat again. I remember that day like it was yesterday. As a parent I felt like I was part of the family not an annoyance like some teachers will make you feel. Taryn understood that we as parents were also adjusting to our young ones being taken care of by someone else and her door was always opened. She had a space for each of her children in her class, they were all her favourite and she made them feel that way too. I know you will be a success on your new journey and no one deserves this better than you. You were a God sent for me and Lufuno and I pray all God’s blessings and favour on your new journey 🙏🤩

Taryn taught my son in Grade 1 at Reddam House Helderfontein in 2020. We could not have asked for a better teacher for our Bongi. He loved school and looked forward to it every single day because Taryn made it fun and showed him and the other kids so much love, compassion and understanding. She was just brilliant and brought out the best in him. It was a challenging year with lockdown but despite this, online classes were fun and done with much enthusiasm and care as in the classroom .
Having her own two little boys, one would think there was very little time for kids outside the classroom but whenever there was a crisis, she would extend a helping hand no matter what.
For this phenomenal woman, teaching is definitely a calling and not a job.

Taryn is an energetic, enthusiastic, passionate teacher that gives her all to her students and their families. She brings a smile to everyone's faces everyday and is a ray of sunshine.
I have had the pleasure of teaching along side Taryn and she goes beyond her means to help out her colleagues. She has a very focused work ethic and lives for God. She would take the clothes off her back for anyone important in her life. Anyone under her care and instruction is blessed to cross paths with her.

Teacher Taryn is the absolute best! She taught both my girls in Foundation phase. They are now 20 and 18. She loved her class kids and was so passionate about what she did. If only I could have had her for every grade for my girls💕

When I think of Teacher Taryn I think of somebody who is living her passion and purpose. You can feel that Taryn has been called to teach, it is not just a job for her. Her unwavering belief that children do better when they have a real connection with their teacher, when they are seen, sets her apart from teachers who are simply working through a syllabus.
Her joy and lust for life make every moment of learning fun and she will always be my child’s favourite teacher.

I could write a thesis on what a wonderful human teacher Tarryn is. I have never seen another teacher so dedicated, loving, caring, fun, energetic, humble. We were truly blessed to have you as our grade 1 teacher. Bastian still talks about how fun you made learning. You are most definately born to teach. Your ability to adjust to the kids personalities and encourage their strengths and keep them in line is truly amazing. You have this way with making the kids and parents feel safe with you and boy are you just a ball of energy! We miss you dearly, you have made the biggest impact and set such a solid foundation for our Bas. Any kid that has the honor of being taught by you is immensely blessed.

Teacher Taryn taught our daughter in grade one. Our daughter has always been a reserved little human but under Taryn's incredible supervision, she flourished into a confident little human who faced challenges head on, she really grew out of her shell and that is because Taryn has a way with not just little people (where she brings out the best in them and makes learning fun for them while doing her best to instill confidence that they can conquer any obstacle (specifically because they learn so many new concepts in grade 1), but she has a way with the parents as well, always providing valuable insights and advise around how we can make the learning journeys of our little humans easier through working as a team. It has been beyond a privilege to have crossed paths with Taryn and our lives as a family have been richer from the experience. You leaving the school is a massive loss but what a wonderful gain for the rest of the world and the incredible little humans who will be nurtured through your love and care. We love you Teacher Taryn ❤️❤️❤️
